A Small-Hand Edition of Chopin's Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28 No. 15 ("Raindrop").
This is not a simplified or beginner arrangement. The goal is to preserve the original musical character, texture, and difficulty while redesigning selected physical hand-size barriers.
The repeated-note "raindrop" motif and the repeated octaves of the middle section remain as Chopin wrote them. The musical character and texture are preserved while selected hand-size barriers — the stretches beyond a comfortable octave — are redesigned.
- Required simultaneous reach: one octave or less
- Requires a comfortable octave in both hands
- Hand redistribution, quick rolls and short editorial pedals
- 40 notes passed to the other hand
- 2 notes shortened
- No notes omitted or added
- Every change is listed in the included README
Designed for pianists who can handle the musical and technical demands of the original work, but are limited by selected stretches beyond a comfortable octave.
PLAYABLE PIANO
We don't make hard music easy.
We make it more playable for smaller hands.
