내 영이 주를 찬양합니다 (My soul admire you, my Lord) Jongwon Jeon

★ What to keep in mind
1. Chord - Intro
2. Rhythm - The whole part and the part of "내 영이"
3. Melody - Making melody with chord
The first thing to do when you get a sheet on your hand is to decide which rhythm to play and which part to play in intro. The rhythm of this song is based on shuffle and there are two parts that can be used for intro, which is 4 bars where there is FINE, and the last line of 4 bars
I thought the FINE was the end, but whenever I actually played the hymn, I always ended up with the last line of 4 bars. So it's okay to choose any part for intro. Discuss with guidance or other instrumental players. You would actually have to choose this 4 bars sine there is FINE. But there might be some problem as soon as choose this part.
The reason of problem is that its because the first beat is empty and also the rhythm is one beat at a time. Even worse is the chord is A#dim7. So I recommend beginners to play four bars of the last line for the intro. Of course, Don't have to play the chord at A#dim7. Just start by playing the melody and play the chord since E.B.
I've prepared this for those of you who want to challenge yourself more.
If you want to learn how to play chord from A#dim7, check out the video and practice.
First method.
You should not stop playing just because the song is off the first beat.
The second method
Its is better to play a note below the melody than the first note for the first beat and this is how you can hear the melody. These are really important, but most of people are confused with that. You have to read the text again, read the sheet music, and check how to do it.
The second thing to highlight is rhythm. It's the shuffle I've been practicing so you guys are supposed to be familiar with rhythm of it. The rhythm that flows through is the rhythm that's pulled in third beat. The place where its not pulled is the part of "내 영이" I marked how they sound differently so please check the video. When this part comes out, you have to emphasize it. Of course it's optional. There is a no rule in playing so its all up to you whether how to play and where to emphasize. You can also choose whether you want to pull the third beat or not, depending on the overall rhythm for the part of "찬양합니다", "외치라". I marked how I did it on my video so check check the video.
Finally, the melody part is, because they usually play the rhythm is fast song, its hard to express the melody. At this point, its better to make a melody line with the chord transmitted rather than trying to do any ad-libs. Listen carefully to how melody is being made, even if its the same chord and take a look at the sheet. Its a long story, but think each of chords, rhythms, and melodies separately. Keep reading and practicing the sheet until you understand.
I am always rooting for you
Thank you
