"Cherry On Top"
A Filipino hit.
The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by BINI girls: a predominant vocal style is *legato* and rap parts are staccato.
Pitch inflections (slurred notes) should be played very quietly.
The vocal is layered so you can add chords in the right hand but playing chords tires off your palm.
"Cherry On Top" is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. It is easy to count for beginners; accent strong beats.
The left hand provides with musical texture. "Cherry On Top" is homophonic: harmony supports the vocal line with chords.
"Cherry On Top" is transcribed in the original *key,* E Flat Major.
Interestingly that the tonic never used in the chords progression.
It uses extended major and minor chords *A♭maj7 G7 B♭ C7.*
A chord change creates a meaningful harmonic progression.
The aesthetic value of a track is based on unconventional tonal behavior under a simple and repetitive melody.
