Description
This is an easy piano arrangement of the classic hymn "'Tis So Sweet to Walk with Jesus," made so that anyone can play it comfortably in worship or in a quiet devotional time. One sheet actually holds three styles in an easy format: a congregational version, a shuffle-rhythm version, and a ballad version. The congregational version keeps a light, steady pulse with simple harmony so the worship mood never sags. The shuffle-rhythm version only needs a little left-hand practice to bring out its groove naturally. The ballad version is lovely for a quiet time of prayer before the service begins. For all three, the real key is to play the left hand light and relaxed.
This arrangement keeps the original hymn key of Eb, and this recording was played in Eb as well. If you need sheet music or audio tracks in a different key, please leave a comment.
This hymn was written in 1897 by Albert B. Simpson (1843-1919), a Canadian-born pastor who founded the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Because of its refrain, it is almost as widely known by the nickname "Step by Step" as by its original title. Its simple confession of following Jesus one small obedience at a time has been treasured in hymnals and songbooks around the world ever since.
