This is a newly arranged 2026 ballad version of "Nothing But the Blood."
This arrangement is explicitly designed for congregational praise during worship. Therefore, it is melody-centric, avoiding excessive jazz chords that might distract from the lyrics and the worship experience itself. Because it is not written in traditional four-part harmony like standard hymnals, it is not suitable for choir performances. However, it is absolutely perfect for church services with solo piano accompaniment or for reflective prayer times before the service begins.
I created this arrangement for churches that may not have a full band or choir. It demonstrates that even with just a single piano, you can deliver rich and abundant musical expressions. I truly hope this brings deeper inspiration and grace to everyone.
The original hymn, "Nothing But the Blood," was written and composed in 1876 by Robert Lowry (1826–1899), a prominent 19th-century American pastor and hymn writer. It holds the simple yet powerful gospel truth that there is absolutely no other way to wash away our sins and attain salvation except through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Even after 150 years, it remains a great spiritual legacy sung by countless Christians worldwide, continually leading them into deep meditation on the grace of the cross.
The video features the song played twice. The first run includes the melody line in the accompaniment, while the second run is played without the piano melody line (a guitar sound is inserted for the main melody to prevent confusion while playing). The instrumental track without the guitar melody can be downloaded from the link below.
I wholeheartedly cheer on all accompanists. I hope a graceful worship unfolds directly from your hands!
