"O Jesus, Thou Art Standing" was written by William Walsham How in 1867, inspired by the passage in Revelation 3:20. It beautifully depicts the persistent and patient love of God who stands at the door of our hearts, knocking and waiting for us to open it of our own free will. For over 150 years, this hymn has served as a confession of faith for believers worldwide, reminding us of the moment we unlock our hearts to welcome the Lord. It serves as a reminder that the Lord does not force His way into our lives but waits for our response. It is a song that celebrates the beginning of salvation when we finally let Him into our lives, despite the noise of the world that often drowns out His gentle knocking. May this performance serve as a sincere prayer for those wishing to open their hearts to His presence.
This accompaniment is suitable for special solo performances. I have inserted the chorus of "We Constantly Betray the Lord" into the interlude, as it matches the lyrics and mood of the hymn perfectly. I was deeply moved while creating the backing track. Please note that the video is in D, while the sheet music is in Eb.
