"The Potter" is a deep confession of faith by Cho Young-jun of the Korean CCM group 'Poem and Picture,' expressing the resolve to surrender one's life completely to the sovereignty of God. Based on Jeremiah 18:6, "Like clay in the hand of the potter," this hymn helps us realize that our lives are not defined by our own will, but are being molded by God. Even when we face the painful process of breaking and reshaping, we confess it is God's love to perfect us into beautiful masterpieces. Since the 2000s, this song has been sung in worship and prayer meetings across Korean churches, serving as a spiritual compass for those who desire to lay down their ego and be molded into His image. In 2026, it remains a sincere prayer for worshipers who seek to entrust their lives entirely into God's hands. When the Lord becomes our Potter and we become the clay, our lives are finally completed as precious vessels revealing God's glory.
