I'd Rather Have Jesus (Congregational Worship Arrangement (Db, D, C keys)) - Hymn 504 (The Celebration Hymnal)

This is an arrangement of the world-renowned hymn, "I'd Rather Have Jesus." The original key is Db major, which contains five flats and can sometimes be tricky to read fluently on the spot.

To make things much easier and more comfortable for both the accompanist and the congregation, I have transposed the piece into the easier key of D major and a lower key of C major. For those who prefer the deep, majestic weight of the original resonance, I have also included the original Db major score in this package.

Since the primary goal is to support congregational singing during main services, it is highly melody-driven. I have purposefully avoided overly complex or heavy jazz chords that might distract from the powerful message of the lyrics and the reverent atmosphere of worship.

Please note that since this is not a traditional four-part harmony arrangement, it is not suitable for choir accompaniment. However, it is absolutely perfect for solo piano accompaniment during church services, or as reflective background music for silent meditation, altar calls, and prayer times.

I created this arrangement with smaller churches in mind that may not have a full praise band or choir. Even with just a single piano, you can deliver a rich and full musical expression. I sincerely hope this sheet music brings deeper grace to your worship experience.
