Bart Howard’s jazz standard “Fly Me to the Moon,” inspired by the Julie London version, is presented here in a stylish trio arrangement for violin, cello, and piano. Built upon the rhythmic character of the original song, this arrangement reimagines the piece with a chamber-jazz approach suitable for live ensemble performance. The vocal melody’s intricate rhythms have been carefully simplified to create a smooth and natural instrumental flow, allowing the melody to sing clearly within the trio texture. The piano provides a rhythmic and harmonic foundation reminiscent of classic jazz accompaniment, while the strings add lyrical color and gentle swing phrasing. Because of these adaptations, the arrangement may differ noticeably from the original recording, offering performers a fresh and accessible interpretation of this timeless standard. The required positions extend up to 1st position for violin and 5th position for cello, allowing expressive phrasing within a comfortable technical range.
