火影忍者Naruto Shippuden OP7 - 透明だった世界 (Toumei Datta Sek) by Ru's Piano

I really love the uniquely uplifting and lively melody of "The World That Was Transparent," the opening theme for Naruto Shippuden Season 7, and I really wanted to play it myself. While searching MyMusic5 for sheet music that captured the energy of the original song, I discovered this sheet music, which had the perfect framework for me to play exactly the way I wanted, so I started practicing.

This sheet music consists of 9 pages total, and since there are no sharps or flats in the key signature, there’s very little psychological pressure when you first open it. Although there are sections with accidentals here and there, the piece isn’t particularly difficult overall, making it a manageable challenge even for piano beginners with just a little practice.

The overall arrangement does an excellent job of capturing the original song’s bright, high-energy vibe. I was particularly impressed by the main melody section, which really kicks in starting at measure 52; the active use of octave chords ensures the sound never feels hollow but instead fills the space richly.

However, if you play strictly according to the sheet music, there are parts where the progression feels a bit monotonous. So, when I actually performed it, I added appropriate ornamental notes here and there between the melody lines. If you’re considering a performance for an audience rather than just playing for yourself, I recommend adding your own variations, such as sweeping the keys from top to bottom with flair or incorporating lively repeated notes. Since the basic framework is so clean and solid, I think this sheet music serves as an excellent canvas for you to build upon and rearrange into your own style by adding various embellishments.

If there is one drawback, it is that the sheet music lacks any detailed articulation markings, such as basic dynamics like forte or piano, accents, or slurs. Therefore, the performer must study the piece’s dynamics and develop the emotional expression on their own. I recommend this sheet music to those who want to enjoy Naruto’s heart-pounding opening at an accessible difficulty level, as well as to those who enjoy the process of adding their own expression and variations without being constrained by the given score.

"Road Sign," the ending theme of the acclaimed anime Violet Evergarden, stands as a musical gem that elevates the entire viewing experience. Its melody is a seamless fusion of gentle, flowing notes, radiating warmth and tranquility. Soft piano chords paired with soothing vocals create an atmosphere that is both comforting and evocative. This meticulously crafted melody perfectly mirrors the emotional journey of the anime's characters. It captures the essence of love, loss, hope, and self-discovery—core themes of Violet Evergarden. When paired with the series' heart-wrenching scenes, the song becomes a powerful emotional catalyst, tugging at viewers' heartstrings and deepening their immersion in the story. Its ability to make listeners empathize with the characters' joys and sorrows stands as testament to its exceptional musical quality. Now, let's turn our attention to animenzzz's arrangement. This piano version of "Roadmark" is an extraordinary reinterpretation, showcasing the arranger's creativity and musical expertise. animenzzz took the original composition and transformed it into a distinctive piano solo piece. The arranger's intent to tell a "fairy tale" through piano is evident throughout the adaptation. During the process, animenzzz made several ingenious modifications. For instance, at 3:55, a novel technique creates a "chime" effect. This addition is not only a technical feat but also a brilliant creative decision. The bell sound infuses the piece with a touch of magic and mystery, as if guiding listeners through a dreamlike realm. It also serves as a symbolic element, perhaps representing moments of clarity and enlightenment within the story. Furthermore, the piece is arranged as a piano score in the key of A, complete with chord symbols. This makes it accessible to piano learners of varying skill levels.Beginners can use it to practice fundamental chord progressions and hand-eye coordination, while more advanced learners can explore subtleties in the arrangement, such as dynamics and phrasing. The inclusion of chords also lends a deeper, richer timbre, allowing performers to fully express the piece's emotional potential.

Overall, whether in its original form or animenzzz's arrangement, "Road Sign" stands as a musical masterpiece that seamlessly blends beautiful melodies, creative adaptation, and emotional resonance. For years to come, it will be cherished not only by fans of Violet Evergarden but also by music enthusiasts everywhere.

Weathering With You - We'll Be Alright by Torby Brand

Unable to shake the lingering impression of the movie *Weathering With You*, I wanted to try playing RADWIMPS’ “We’ll Be Alright” on the piano myself. I was delighted to find sheet music on MyMusic5 that captured the original band’s sound perfectly, so I happily began practicing.

This sheet music is 5 pages long, and since there are no sharps or flats in the key signature, the barrier to entry is relatively low for beginners. The song’s progression starts off very calm and lyrical in the beginning but brilliantly captures the flow as the emotional intensity explodes and the music becomes more majestic toward the end. However, since the left hand has quite frequent leaps and the right hand must carry the melody with octave chords, sufficient practice time is required for a smooth performance.

The most notable aspect of the arrangement is the left-hand accompaniment pattern. The left-hand bass firmly anchors the lower register before immediately rising to the middle register to actively fill the space, providing solid support for the right-hand melody, which could otherwise sound hollow. In particular, the main melody section that bursts forth starting at measure 60 is so impressive that it can be called the highlight of the piece; I, too, was completely captivated by this part and even recorded a video of myself playing it.

One thing to note is that since the right-hand melody unfolds primarily using octave chords, playing it on an electric piano may leave you feeling that you’re missing out on some of the piece’s unique grandeur. I was able to clearly experience that rich, full resonance when playing on an acoustic piano or grand piano equipped with a hammer action. I highly recommend this sheet music to anyone who wants to fully express the Redwimps’ signature, heart-pounding band sound using just a single piano.
