Israeli composer Amit Weiner has an international career as a composer, a concert pianist, and a presenter.

Amit Weiner has performed in concert tours in Asia and America, included Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam, and all over the US. His music has been performed in festivals and concerts, including New York's Carnegie Hall, Europe and Asia.

As a composer he is active in both the genre of concert music, and in music for films and TV. His oeuvre includes over 50 chamber, vocal and orchestral works.

His music has won many international competitions and awards, among them recently the 2nd Prize at the 2016 Alfred Schnittke Competition, in Lviv, Ukraine, The Asian Composers League "15-Minutes-of-Fame" competition, The America Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarships, and more. Performances in festivals around the world included: The 2017 SCI Conference in Arizona, USA; The 2017 New Music on the Bayou Festival in Louisiana, USA; The 2017 Florida International Toy Piano Festival, The 2016 International Trumpet Guild Festival, Los Angeles, USA, The 2012 Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival, The 2011 Jerusalem Film Festival and 2013, and more.


In addition to his position as professor of composition and Head of The Cross-Disciplinary Composition Division, at the at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Dr. Weiner serves frequently as a guest composer in universities and conferences around the world, among those Washington State University, Seattle; Lasalle College of the Arts Singapore; The University of Montevallo, Alabama; The college of fine Arts in Hanoi, Vietnam; The University of Yangon, Myanmar; and the Tel Aviv University Buchman-Mehta School of Music, Israel. In 2020, Dr Weiner has been invited to serve as a visiting professor at Northeastern University, Boston, in the Exchange Visitor Program.

In 2020 Amit has won a grant from New Music USA, to compose a new piece as a collaboration with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company to be premiered in its 2021 season.

Amit is working closely with organizations in the USA such as The Back Story Group, in educational and artistic collaborations, and with Arts By The People in projects such as Intonation and Bridging Gaps.
