Hello everyone. I would like to present you my piano cover to the music of a Ukrainian composer with whom I was lucky to meet personally because he is my distant relative - Myroslav Skoryk. This music is very simply called "Мелодія" ("Melody") and was written in 1981 to the film Ukrainian "Високий Перевал" ("High Pass"), although this film is now little remembered, even among Ukrainians, but "Melody" has become one of the most recognizable Ukrainian symphonic compositions, even abroad. This composition is incredibly simple but at the same time incredibly lyrical and sensual and includes all the pain of the Ukrainian people. The work begins in A minor, but later the composition becomes more tense and changes tonality several times in the culmination. Unfortunately, on June 1, 2020, Myroslav Skoryk passed away, he does not see all the horrors we have to see, but I know that he has always dreamed of a free and independent Ukraine because he was repressed in Soviet times and I know that Ukraine will defend its independence and be free and prosperous for the people like Miroslav Skoryk, who fought and glorified Ukraine for hundreds of years. It was especially important for me to write a cover of his "Melody" in a way that would not spoil the impression of the original piece.
