The Christmas Holidays are getting closer and closer to us, and the closer they get, the more the spirit of Christmas and the belief in a real Christmas miracle are felt. But nothing will convey this spirit as well as the real Christmas music that I present in this cover. The melody, which has long been synonymous with Christmas and is considered almost the unofficial anthem of this Christmas. Shchedryk ("Щедрик") - or as most people used to call - Carol of the Bells.
The Ukrainian Christmas carol written by Mykola Leontovych in 1914 on folk motives gained real popularity after his tour to the United States in 1922, where it was heard by the American choral conductor Petro Vilhovsky and decided to translate it into English. Since then, Shchedryk has been one of the most recognizable Christmas melodies in the world. Carol of the Bells re-sing, create covers on it, modernize, this melody appears even in Hollywood films, as "Home Alone". It seems that this melody will be relevant forever and will never grow old.
I also could not ignore such a legendary melody, especially since I am from Ukraine and I am proud to be able to be a compatriot of such famous people, and I wrote my own version of this legendary carol. This is really a somewhat unusual version of the generous, I think you have not heard. But I hope I do not spoil your impression of the original song and you like my version of this Christmas carol.
Pleasant listening and Happy Holidays.
