Did everyone have a blessed Sunday? While playing accompaniment at last week's Friday prayer meeting, I found myself thinking about something obvious that I had let slip my mind. As a church accompanist, playing well matters, but I must never forget that all the glory in that playing belongs to God, not to me. Being human, I often lean on my own skill, but I was reminded again that what matters far more is looking to God and worshiping Him.
So I played an accompaniment for “Jesus Shall Take the Highest Honour,” a confession that all glory is given to the Lord. Its English title is truly beautiful — “Jesus shall take the highest honor.” I want to be someone who offers God the highest glory, the greatest honor, and the best worship. Wherever I play, that place becomes the very best place of worship, so I hope to worship with the very best heart I have.
