Beat Beats》is a piece written by Cheng Yu-Tai, a completely innovative work ever in the flute world, dedicated for two beatbox flute player.
“Beats” is now the most famous way of factory of music business: hip-hop, pop, rock, fusion, ballade, etc. As classical music player, especially for those flutists like me, we have trouble facing the modern “beats”, most of our training didn’t include the “beats” training, and it’s kind of hard to express music through our own instrument once we head into the music business.
That’s the very idea why I have written this piece, and it’s the most essential problems for all the flutists, we need to find out another way other than symphony orchestra or jazz band, they are not bad, but we have to learn to “PLAY” music with all true heart, return to your higher SELF and beat the BEATS!!!
