You have to count every 2/2 beats into 2 beats. if you do  4, the song and singing won't make sense at all. There seems to be a few notes on sheets, but sheets with 4/4 beats will be too many notes on the sheet. What I want you to know, therefore, is it is not a loose song. Practice a lot!
