Fushigi Yuugi is the first Japanese anime series that I’ve followed.I have always wanted to play this piece on the piano, but I could never find a music score for it, so I decided to make a piano adaptation by myself. To make the piece more varied, I arranged the structure to progress from simple to complex so as to bolster the ending climax. Other JOJO fans might notice the left-hand’s rhythm in the verse (00:41-00:50; 00:58-01:05) borrows from JOJO Parte 5 Golden Wind’s il vento d’oro (Team Bucciarati's theme song), adding a little spark to the monophonic melody. The bridge between the verse and the chorus is adorned with arpeggios to create a sense of flow. I also created some variations at the end (01:44-02:05), adding some ornaments and octave chords to make the final chorus richer in texture. Finally, the piece ends with a group of contrary motion octave chords. The main bottleneck lies in bringing my playing up to speed and matching the rhythm of both hands, as well as in highlighting the ornaments in the final chorus. Hopefully these comments are useful for you, happy playing!
