"Though the Way I May Not See," written by the blind hymn poet Fanny J. Crosby in 1875, is a profound confession of trust in God's guidance. Despite her physical blindness, Crosby saw the Lord's leading more clearly than anyone. Composed by William H. Doane, this hymn teaches believers facing the fog of life that who we walk with is far more important than knowing the path itself. While the world prioritizes the destination, this hymn sings of the paradoxical peace that comes from being with the Lord, regardless of where the path leads. For over 150 years, it has served as a spiritual compass, inviting us to lay down anxieties about the future and trust in His good hand. Not knowing the way is not a deficiency, but the beginning of a blessing where we can fully lean on Him. May this song be a milestone of faith for you as you entrust your steps to the faithful Shepherd.
I have arranged the second part of the congregational arrangement (starting at 00:54 in the video) into a ballad version per your request.
(Congregational Arrangement: https://www.mymusic5.com/chunsabach/383997)
This arrangement is tailored for congregational worship, focusing on the melody and avoiding complex jazz chords. Note that this is not a traditional 4-part (SATB) choral arrangement; it is best suited for solo piano accompaniment during services or meditative prayer times. I hope this provides a rich musical experience for churches without a full praise band.
Although I proofread these scores multiple times, small errors can occasionally occur. If you find any issues, please let me know, and I will correct them immediately.
