I have arranged the Lenten hymn "King of My Life, I Crown Thee Now" (Lead Me to Calvary) for piano.
For those who might find the original three flats a bit daunting, I’ve created a version in the key of D. The sheet music also includes the original Eb key and a C key version.
This arrangement is designed specifically for congregational singing during worship. Therefore, it is very melody-centered, and I intentionally avoided overly complex jazz chords that might distract from the lyrics and the worship experience.
Please note that this is not a traditional four-part SATB arrangement, so it won't work well for accompanying a choir. However, it’s absolutely perfect for churches where a single piano leads the worship, or for playing during quiet meditation before the service begins. I made this arrangement specifically with smaller churches in mind—those without a full worship band or choir.
My hope is to show that a single piano can produce a rich, full sound, bringing deeper emotion and grace to your worship service.
Since the original song has a slightly upbeat feel, I arranged it with a matching shuffle rhythm. In my video, I play the first verse with this shuffle rhythm as written, and for the second verse, I step away from the exact score to play it in a more free-flowing ballad style.
