Descripción
“Prism” is YUKI's second single.
Lyrics: YUKI / Music: Andy Sturmer / Arrangement: Andy Sturmer, John Fields
Release Date: March 6, 2002
It was released exactly one month after her previous single, “the end of shite.”
Starting with this single, YUKI has written the lyrics for all of her singles herself (including co-written works). It is one of the songs she wrote immediately after the breakup of JUDY AND MARY, expressing her anxieties and hopes about her solo career, as well as her gratitude toward her bandmates.
It is a staple of her live performances and is almost always sung.
Actor Hidetoshi Nishijima appears in the music video.
She performed this song during her debut appearance at the 63rd NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. During the live performance, star-shaped confetti landed right on the center of her forehead, just above her wig, forming a “star-shaped mark,” and some media outlets reported this as a “miraculous moment.”
