Tie Xue Dan Xin (Legend of the Condor Heroes)-Joseph Koo

Even without having seen the original TV series or heard the original song, hearing it in 2023, 40 years later, the melody still feels familiar, lingers in the ear, and stirs the heart. It seems to carry a rhythm known from birth: eagles cry and cranes call across the vast land, dragons rise and tigers leap; yellow sands roll and immense waves surge through the ages, while human beings are small but a hero’s righteousness reaches the clouds and endures forever. This is the power of a classic. Its traditional folk-music character awakens cultural and aesthetic recognition; amid the vast world of its words and music, we instantly understand the flashing blades, old grievances, chivalry, and honor of the martial world. Male and female voices answer each other, their intertwined words and melody bringing together a hero’s strength and tenderness. True resolve may not always endure, yet the flowers are red and their fragrance rich. Through the countless trials of mortal life, which pass like flowing water, the spirit remains bold and the loyal heart stays true. This arrangement retains the two vocal lines of the male-female duet, while the accompaniment places greater emphasis on the original song’s traditional character. A tribute to an eternal classic. I hope you enjoy this version. “Tie Xue Dan Xin” Composer: Joseph Koo Lyrics: 邓伟雄 Original vocals: 罗文 / 甄妮 Piano arrangement: MappleZS
