‘첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아’는 첫 만남의 설렘 속에서 마주한 막연함을, 앞으로 함께할 빛나는 나날들에 대한 기대로 극복하는 이야기를 담고 있다. 소년들의 풋풋한 첫 만남을 톡 쏘는 스파클링으로 표현했다. 강렬한 드럼과 함께 짜릿한 기타, 신스 사운드가 가미된 하이브리드 팝(Hybrid Pop) 장르로, 가사와 사운드 소스의 대비로 곡의 메시지를 더욱 강렬하게 전달한다.

"plot twist" tells the story of traveling into the unknown amid a heart-pounding rhythm, likening the act of overcoming the restlessness of the new with hope for the glistening future to a ‘sparkling’ sensation. The hybrid pop track juxtaposes the sweet set of lyrics that lowers the listener’s guard to layers of synths, electrifying guitar and hard-hitting drums, rendering the delivery of the song’s message that much more memorable.

初めての出会いのときめきと漠然とした感じ、そしてTWSだけの初々しい感性を盛り込んでいるタイトル曲「plot twist」（初めての出会いは計画通りにいかない）は夢の中に入るようなイントロを皮切りに強烈なドラムと共にパワフルなギター、シンセサウンドが加味されたHybrid Pop曲だ。また、お互いに対比される歌詞を通じて描かれる場面は、夢から覚めるようなソースと共に曲のメッセージをさらに強烈に伝える。
