Nod-Krai-Genshin Impact

When I was working on this piece, I wasn’t very familiar with Celtic music, relying instead on their feel for the original track and my impression of Nod-Krai. The theme songs for each major version of Genshin Impact always feature a variety of instruments, which is quite interesting—this time including the hurdy-gurdy and Irish tin whistle, among others, and they even invited the singer AURORA. I added a short section for the introduction, aiming to use simple melodic lines paired with gentle piano chords to evoke a sense of loneliness, homesickness, and purity under the moonlight, while setting the stage for the later passionate expression of the Moon Goddess’s hope to lead all beings to liberation from suffering. In the section where the tin whistle comes in, I used a lot of ornamental notes, slides, and trills to mimic that lyrical, breathing quality. The latter half builds in intensity layer by layer, with the grandeur of the orchestral strings and the soaring vocals seemingly celebrating the vibrant, hopeful atmosphere of the moonlit world. I chose a strong rhythmic drive and tried to preserve the power in the vocals to convey that sense of strength. I hope everyone enjoys it!
