About
Hi, I’m Doron Kima, and welcome to Piano Tutorial Academy!
Here is my official website: www.doronkima.com
As a composer, pianist, and music lecturer, I’ve had the privilege of studying and performing a variety of musical styles, from Western classical to jazz and Middle Eastern music. My musical journey has shaped my approach to teaching, and I’m excited to share my passion for music with you.
Throughout my career, I’ve composed works spanning symphonic and chamber ensembles to jazz, with compositions published by Schott Music Corporation, Navona Records, and AudioMaze Records. One of my proudest moments was the world premiere of my concerto-type composition Seeds of Hope in St. Paul's Cathedral in Malta, featuring incredible musicians from the Middle East. As a pianist, I’ve had the opportunity to perform and record with world-class artists like Deborah Brown, Mike Stern, and Marcus Printup, and perform at major festivals such as Montreux Jazz, North Sea Jazz, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival.
In addition to performing and composing, I’m an academic with a doctorate in composition from Florida State University. I currently serve as the Academic Director and Head of the Instrumental Performance Department at Ono Academic College in Israel, where I also lecture in music. I’ve had the pleasure of conducting master classes around the world, including at the National Editus Academy in Costa Rica and the University of Costa Rica San Jose.
Here on my channel, I’m dedicated to helping you learn to play the piano with tutorials that break down even the most complex pieces into easy-to-follow steps. From jazz and classical to modern pop hits, I aim to make every lesson as enjoyable and insightful as possible. Join me and start learning today!
