「荒野の果てに」は、フランスの伝統的なキャロル ソング

フランス名は「Les Anges dans nos campagnes」レザンジュダンノカンパーニュ。人の集まる町や村から離れた野のはてに天の御使いが、という意味です。聖書の（申命記）に荒野という言葉がよく書かれています。荒野とは、本来神のことばが下る場所、神の声を聞く場所のです。

日本語では、「荒野の果てに」と「天の御使いの」、2つのタイトルありますが同じ曲です。

英語は「Angels We Have Heard On High」の意味は、われら天に天使の声を聴く。

歌詞の内容は、聖書のルカの福音書に書かれたイエスキリストの生誕地のベツレヘム郊外で、羊飼いたちが、大勢の天使たちがイエスの誕生を歌い賛美している様子のお話です。ルカの福音書よると、「グロリアインエクセルシスデオ」グロリア『栄光』デオ『神』インエクセルシス『高いところ』は、このお話の中で天使が歌った歌の最初の部分です。

楽譜には、1と2番の歌詞は日本語と英語を入れましたがYouTubeの説明欄に4番までの歌詞を載せました。

"Angels We Have Heard On High" is a traditional French carol song

The French name is "Les Anges dans nos campagnes" It means "The Angel of heaven at the edge of the field, far from the towns and villages where people gather.

We hear the voice of angels in heaven.

The lyrics are about shepherds on the outskirts of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, as described in the Gospel of Luke in the Bible, where the angels are singing and praising the birth of Jesus.

"Gloria in excelsis deo."

Gloria 'glory' deo 'God' in Excelsis 'high place' is the first part of the song sung by the angels in this story.

In the score, the lyrics of the first and second verses are in English and Japanese.
