“Kill Bill Sheet Music”

Notice that there are three files: all three released official versions.

I notate verses/choruses differently because in modern pop-music they are arranged differently purely for the aesthetic enjoyment of variation.

A predominant vocal style is legato.

I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.

"Kill Bill" is a song with a heterophonic arrengement — the instrumental part provides not only a harmony to support the vocal but also its own melody. Piano is an instrument that can play a melody and an accompaniment simultaneously.

The key is A Flat Major.

A chord change creates a meaningful harmonic pull, unlike in other SZA songs.

"Sped Up Version" is in higher key and some bars are simplified because nuances were lost on such a high speed.

"Kill Bill Sped Up Version" is played with a swinged rhythm. Instead of triplets I notated it as 12/8, a time signature containing 12 eighth notes per bar. It is easier to count for beginners than triplets.

I also doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.

This rhythm is associated with the natural flow of a spoken speech and commonly seen in blues, jazz, and other soulful idioms. But be sure not to play in a mechanical way. Strive for a loose and bouncing feel accenting strong beats. Take care to maintain a steady pulse and play along with the recording if you find that the memory eludes you. Practice "Kill Bill Sped Up Version" slowly.

The acoustic version she released in January 2023, kind of different from the original.

"Kill Bill (Acoustic)" is played with a straightened rhythm (the original track is recorded swinged) except for several bars where you can see triplets. I like the straight rhythm more, I don't love jazz.

Anyway, create bouncing feel by accenting strong beats. Take care to maintain a steady pulse and play along with the recording if you find that the memory eludes you. Practice "Kill Bill (Acoustic)" slowly.

"Kill Bill (Acoustic)" is transcribed in the original key, A Flat Major, and uses a mix of major and minor chords. The same progression is repeated throughout the song.

The aesthetic value of the melody line is achieved through the use of well-proportioned and balanced skips and steps where dissonant notes interacting with stable chord tones. Notice how many alteration (non-harmonic tones) is in the score.

The last bar with the tonic chord is added by me. Modern commercial music doesn't resolve on tonic to push a listener to repeat the track on a streaming service.
