This arrangement is designed for congregational worship.

The first verse focuses on the main melody, carefully avoiding overly complex jazz chords so as not to distract from the lyrics and the worship experience. For the second verse, I stepped away from the traditional structure and created a free, flowing modern ballad version, allowing for a deeper and more emotional reflection on the lyrics. Sheet music for both verses is shared in the video, and this particular performance was recorded in the key of F.

I believe this will be perfect for church services or pre-service prayer and meditation times that rely on a single piano accompaniment. My hope is that even with just one piano, you can express a rich musicality and experience deep grace.

Written by Charles Wesley, one of the most prolific hymn writers in history, this beautiful hymn is a profound confession of faith. It captures a deep realization of human frailty and a desperate, complete reliance on the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ.
