"Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed," written by Fanny Crosby and composed by William Doane in 1875, is a profound hymn of devotion. Beyond mere doctrine, it confesses that the Savior’s suffering was a specific, desperate act of love for "me." Every verse invites us to meditate on the pain He endured on the Cross and His infinite love, asking how we should respond to such grace. Today, it serves as a powerful awakening to the "grace of atonement" that we often forget amidst worldly values. He walked the path of the Cross to save me, who was doomed by sin. Thinking of that noble sacrifice, we cannot sing this without tears. May this arrangement be a blessed time to confess His redemptive love with all your heart.
The original key is F. I have uploaded this arrangement in Eb upon request. Please note that the demonstration video is in the key of F.
