The original key is Db major.
While the vocal range isn't particularly high, I have prepared arrangements in D major and a lower C major for accompanists who might find the original key challenging to play.
Standard hymnals are written in 4-part harmony. However, those scores are primarily designed for a 4-part choir, not specifically for a piano solo.
Therefore, for congregational worship without a choir, I personally believe there is no need to strictly and heavily pound out every single chord exactly as written in the hymnal. That is why I created this piano-focused arrangement.
To emphasize the lyrics and the melody, I kept the left-hand accompaniment minimal at the beginning. However, as you progress to the 3rd and 4th verses, feel free to allow wider leaps in your left hand, adapting your playing to the atmosphere and flow of the worship service.
This arrangement is an attempt to serve church services that do not have a full worship band or choir.
I hope this demonstrates that a single piano can produce rich musical expression, and I pray that you experience deeper emotion and grace through it.
If you watch my video, you will see that I played the 1st verse exactly as written in the sheet music, but I played the 2nd verse much more freely.
It includes many arpeggios and ad-libs between the measures. This freer style is highly recommended for the 3rd and 4th verses when the worship atmosphere builds up.
