A Town with an Ocean View "from Kiki's Delivery Service" (Tsugaru Syamisen Kaede TAB) - Joe Hisaishi

This is an inserted song from the Studio Ghibli film “Kiki’s Delivery Service” (released in 1989).

The arrangement is written in E minor (Em), following the original key. The performance and karaoke versions distributed separately by various companies are arranged in the same way.

Regarding the length of the piece, part of the latter half has been cut because it is difficult to reproduce that section on the shamisen.

Part 1 plays the main melody. It mainly uses the 6–16 finger positions (tsubo), and in order to minimize movement, the second string and first string are also used frequently. Each finger position is assigned to one finger, including the little finger, so that the amount of movement is reduced. Because the positions are arranged with this idea in mind, I recommend trying it with that approach. Please check the fingering in the video.

Part 2 is basically the backing part. In combination with Part 1, there are sections where it should be clearly heard and others where it supports the melody. Try playing while being aware of this difference.
