“Shot Glass of Tears Sheet Music”

I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners. The track isn't recorded in the 2/2 time.

Imitate the vocal delivery by Jung Kook or it won't sound as the song. The vocal part is rhythmic but with pitch inflections (slurred notes) of an indefinite pitch at the end of phrases. All inflected notes should be played very quietly. The melodic line is built on repetition of one note. The composition lacks intervallic saturation thus its artistic meaning and expression suffer.

A predominant vocal style is *staccato* with legato at the accented syllables.

"Shot Glass of Tears" is played with a straight rhythm in common time. It is easy to count for beginners but be sure not to play in a mechanical way. Strive for a loose and bouncing feel accenting strong beats. Take care to maintain a steady pulse and play along with the recording if you find that the memory eludes you. Practice "Shot Glass of Tears" slowly.

To keep listeners attention, the *chorus* was made to be the biggest part of the song. Play every part differently, as expressively as possible. If some notes are too difficult to play, omit them focusing on emotions instead of sightreading.

A single vocal line accompanied by an instrumental part constitutes the entire musical texture. "Shot Glass of Tears" has a homophonic arrengement: the instrumental part provides a harmony to support the vocal but lacks its own melody. I didn't include the instrumental two-note ornaments because they are don't correspond with the topline's rhythm and so it's hard to play for beginners.

"Shot Glass of Tears" is transcribed in the original key, A Major, and uses four basic major and minor chords A Bm F♯m D. A chord change creates a meaningful harmonic progression.

The aesthetic value of a melodic line is achieved through the use of conventional tonal behavior.

The chorus uses the third degree C♯ resolved downwards in tonic A and the verses is build around one note, the tonic A.
