3.14 (Paramuditaya) - Katarina Ningrum

Basically, this phi 3,14 number talks about the circle.

Paramuditaya is the word derived from the ancient Kawi language means 'circling around'.

This piece describes the looping of life. How most religions & beliefs speak about the things we do that go back and forth from us to other people and coming back to us like karma, tabur-tuai, azab & pahala, even afterlife and anything else. It seems like 'circle' is the whole universe's theme, because even the planet we live in is rounded, the whole system in is sustainable. Nothing is ever really ended, it's going and going. But to keep looping, we need to hold each other as one. Every particle of this little thing we call life, is truly significant to keep the loop moving.

Performance Guide :

- Long notes with ties are expected to be played as if they're seawaves--soft, sparkling, then hold back.

- There will be a lot of canons of melodies, thus each player need to be aware of each other's timing so they can balance & support each other, no melody's harmed, but the harmony & other rhytmic element aren't compromised either.

- Be patient, the tempo is slow and contemplative. I hope the whole orchestra can take a harmonious breaths together while playing this piece (and other pieces!).
