Two minim is quarter note.

What's more important here is what kind of notes you're going to get as a beat

A minim in one beat is 2/2. A four quarter in one beat is 4/4. 

From a four quarter point of view, it's one beat at 4/4 and half beat at 2/2 because The minim is one beat at the 2/2. I'll change the title of this song to 4/4.

If you want to change the minim from one beat to a four quarter, you have to cut all the performances in half.

Whether it's 2/2 or 4/4, A/G -G chord is 1 beat each.

By the way, 2/2 have a one beat of minim, so it feels like it's going to 2 beats each but That's why I made a mistake.
