This song by Baek Z Young from the K-drama "Secret Garden" is actually not a complicated song, but because I had multiple things diverting my attention through January and February, I ended up losing steam somewhere in between. Started scoring in mid-Jan, recorded this mid-Feb and finally got around to finishing this video in March. I know it's terrible productivity, but this is why I only do music for fun!
One of the unique elements I remember most of this song is the use of triplets against a straight 4/4 melody during the main verses. It also has beautiful chord progressions (like when the chorus opens from the root F# into B - BM7 - B6 - Bm and then resolves into the next obvious A#m and D#m).
A fun trivia I've found out from my 'research' is that the singer Baek Z Young (also known as "the Queen of OSTs") loves doing songs for K-dramas if she likes the main female character after reading the script (in "Secret Garden", the female lead was a stuntwoman). This would also explain her singing contribution to "The King's Affection" (female twin pretending to be the Crowned Prince) and "IRIS" (gun-toting females), one of which I've covered and the other I intend to do at some point.
I hope, at least, that my personal frustration with what felt like prolonged hours spent over this song doesn't end up reflecting against it in this recording, i.e. I hope this cover still sounds good to you, enjoy!
