Summer Pockets - KIYO

Only that dazzling summer has never faded.
Even now, I still remember the blue sky above Torishirojima.

Among all the works by Key, Summer Pockets has always held a special place in my heart.

Whether it's the visual novel or the anime adaptation, both quietly tell a story about a single summer—about fleeting days, precious memories, and the inevitable farewell that awaits beyond them. Nothing is dramatic, yet every gentle moment lingers long after it ends.

The opening theme feels exactly the same.

Soft and peaceful, as if it carries the sunlight shimmering across the sea, the sound of cicadas drifting through the air, and the warm breeze that only exists on that little island.

This has always been one of my favorite pieces.

After finishing the original story and later watching the anime, I searched for a piano arrangement that could truly capture that feeling. I found many wonderful scores, but somehow none of them sounded exactly like the summer I remembered.

So I decided to make one myself.

Using various existing arrangements as references while returning to the original soundtrack again and again, I tried to recreate not just the notes, but the atmosphere—the quiet warmth that makes Summer Pockets unforgettable.

The arrangement itself isn't particularly difficult to play, and I hope anyone who loves this story can enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it.
