Hello~ Heaven Twins👋

Although it has only been a week,

I've been waiting so long to see you again.

Being able to prepare for Thanksgiving,

Also, I can prepare(?) for you in advance.

I'm happy~ :)

Most churches celebrate Thanksgiving on the third week of November, but...

Depending on the church, it may vary by a week or two.

I think it's time to sing a lot of praises of gratitude~ :)

Of course, there are churches that have already passed...

But even after the season passes, I’m always thankful.

You can play it anytime, 365 days a year~haha

👉What are 3 tips to look for in this song?

✔️1. Reharmonization

Measures 9, 25, 41

This is the golden wave “running behind” part of the verse.

This is the G-D chord progression.

I changed it to the G-Em7-A7-D chord progression.

Two techniques are used here.

The first is the A7 chord to proceed to the D chord.

The second is Em7, which is the Related IIm7 to A7.

When reharmonizing, it seems like you will change the chords from the beginning,

I change the code from the back to the front. Haha.

A7 is called secondary dominant.

V7 (5 degrees) is 5 degrees higher than I (1 degree), right??

However, it is not written as V7/I, but rather as V7.

This is because it is a Primary Dominant Seventh chord.

There is only one key.

V7 makes me feel uneasy,

There is a tendency to try to solve it (to proceed strongly) with I.

However, V7 (5th degree) also exists in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th degrees.

Based on 2 degrees, V7, which is 5 degrees higher, is written as V7/II.

These are called “secondary” dominant seventh chords.

That's why the A7 chord, which is 5 degrees higher than D, exists.

In the key of G, D is V (5th), which is 5 degrees higher than V, so it is analyzed as V7/V.

The reason I wrote this code is because I'm trying to strongly go back to I (try to solve it)...

If I use A7, I strongly want to go to D. LOL.

And when A7 is said to be 5 degrees,

Em7, which is IIm7 (2nd degree), was placed before the A7 chord.

So, here comes the G-Em7-A7-D chord progression.

It's no big deal if you know it, but

I think it's difficult to change it in a good position unless you try it.

Listen to a good sound first, then play it,

Couldn’t I change it in a different part or in a different song? Try it~

✔️2. Tension #11

Measures 15, 31, and 47

Shall we also look at the “ripe grain” part of the refrain?

You should pay attention to the tension note called #11.

#11 To find it simply,

Same as 2=9, 4=11, 6=13th note.

According to this principle, note #11 is the same as note #4???

So, the tension #11 note in the D7 chord becomes the “sol #” note.

They say you can also add a tension note called #11 to the dominant 7th chord...

People who don't know how to do things in practice, not theory!!!

This is how you play it~ :)

(Pay attention to the voicing!!)

✔️3. ad lib

30 words

I like the ad-lib in the “ripe” part of the chorus. LOL.

For ad-libs, it's okay to use any note in the key scale (to put it simply).

But I!!!!!

I think “Which note should I start with?” is one of the really important factors.

In particular, it’s very smart to start with “7 notes” like this~

When in the key of G, there is nothing difficult about the “pa #solera” note in the G chord.

Still, it feels very sophisticated...

The importance of the starting sound is

How can I use this in other parts and other songs? Think about it~ :)

💟

We hope that this generous sharing will help Heavendungis’ musical accompaniment.

Become an accompanist who enjoys heaven today~ :)
