"Heading South"

A transcription for easy *piano* notated as it was performed. *Re-arrange* the left hand by breaking harmony *chords* in arpeggios or other bass patterns it the score is too easy for you. You can omit playing the syncopated chords in the left hand if it's hard or tiring for you.

Please, notice that the upper stave is written using a treble clef with the numeral 8 below it (a so-called suboctave clef). This indicates that the pitches sound an octave lower. Play the right hand one octave lower than written. I do it to avoid using ledger lines that slower sighreading.

I also doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners. The track isn't recorded in the 2/2 time.

The Zach Bryan's track has some interesting formal and harmonic things:

"Heading South" is played with a syncopated rhythm in common time 4/4. The tempo is very fast so practice slowly.

"Heading South" is a song with a homophonic arrengement: the instrumental part provides a harmony to support the vocal but lacks its own melody.

The vocal part is rhythmic but with with pitch inflections (slurred notes). All inflected notes should be played very quiet. A predominant vocal style is legato.

"Heading South" is transcribed in the original *key,* E Major, and uses a progression of basic one minor and major chords *C#m A E B.*

Notice the use of ellipsis (omitted chords).

The aesthetic value of a melodic line is achieved through the use of well-proportioned and balanced skips and steps. Steps make it nice and predictable and leaps prevent the song from being too boring.

Of course I consider filling your *requests* of sheet music except for not popular tracks.
