"The Comforter Has Come," written by John H. Stockton, is a classic gospel hymn that celebrates the peace and victory found in Christ. Even amidst life’s doubts and hardships, it confesses that the love of the Lord sustains us, and the peace we find in Him is truly precious. When we rely on the Lord, who drives away the darkness of our lives, all fear fades, and true rest is found. This hymn has served as a spiritual compass for countless believers, turning despair into hope and uncertainty into assurance.
This arrangement is ideal for churches like ours, where the worship team consists only of a leader and a pianist. While I love funk rhythms, I use the shuffle rhythm for most of my pre-worship playing because it is familiar and comfortable for the congregation. Worship is not a performance to showcase the accompanist's skills, but a time to help the congregation focus on the lyrics and stir their souls. My goal is to support the worshipers, not to distract them with overly complex harmonies.
Although I proofread these scores multiple times, small errors can occasionally occur. If you find any issues, please let me know, and I will correct them immediately.
