"Tell the Blessed Story," written by E. H. Gates and composed by William Howard Doane in the late 19th century, carries the fervent desire and mission of believers to spread the good news of the Gospel throughout the world. It delivers a powerful message of evangelism, declaring that those who have experienced salvation cannot hide that joy and must testify to the Lord's love to everyone they meet. It has been cherished as a hymn of dedication, sharing God's heart for the salvation of souls. The most blessed and precious news among all the world's tidings is the salvation of Jesus Christ. This hymn awakens the mission given to us, singing of a life that is completed only when we open our lips to proclaim the Gospel. Even today, it resonates as a valuable confession for those who shine the light of life to souls lost in a barren world, renewing our commitment to dedicate our lives to witnessing the Gospel.

This ballad-style arrangement was created by subscriber request. While the original key is C, I have also provided versions in Bb and A.

This arrangement is tailored for congregational worship. I have kept the melody central and avoided complex jazz chords that might distract from the lyrics and the worship experience. Please note that this is not a traditional 4-part (SATB) choral arrangement, so it is best suited for solo piano accompaniment during worship services or as background music for pre-service meditation. I designed this for churches without a full praise band, aiming to provide a rich sound that can fill the space with just one piano.

Although I proofread these scores multiple times, small errors can occasionally occur. If you find any issues, please let me know, and I will correct them immediately.

If you need sheet music or audio tracks in a different key, please feel free to leave a comment on my YouTube channel or blog for a faster response.
