Please, notice that the upper stave is written one octave higher. Damiano David has a very low voice.

Like other Måneskin songs, the track has a number of interesting formal and harmonic things going on:

"TIMEZONE_ is transcribed in the original *key,* E Major, and uses a mix of major and minor chords. A chord change marks time and musical structure, and creates a meaningful harmonic pull. Notice ellipsis (silenced chords) that pushes voice forward without Damiano David raising his voice.

"TIMEZONE" is played with a compound time 6/8 with swing feel. This rhythm is associated with the natural flow of a spoken speech and common in blues/jazz and folk/country music.

I always notate 6/8 as 3/4, a time signature containing 3 quarter notes per bar because the latter is easier to count for beginners than 6 eights notes.

Be sure not to play in a mechanical way. Strive for a loose and bouncing feel accenting strong beats. Take care to maintain a steady pulse and play along with the recording if you find that the memory eludes you. Practice "TIMEZONE" slowly.

To keep listeners attention, the chorus was made to be the biggest part of a song. It colored it *blue* for your convenience: it is easier to learn a piece of music when you have a mental scheme of it. Notice that phrases don't obey bar lines, eg. verses end where a chorus should start.

The first and second verses/choruses are different, play them differently, as expressively as possible. If some notes prove too difficult to play, simply omit them focusing on emotions instead of sightreading.

"TIMEZONE" is a song with a heterophonic arrengement — the instrumental part provides its own melody to accompany voice (topline). Piano is an instrument that can play a melody and an accompaniment simultaneously. The melody is not confined to remain exclusively in the uppermost voice.

Vocal in the original track is sinuous and complex, marked by subtle bends and slides, with intense ornamentation. It is *impossible* to convey on piano with a fixed pitch of the keys. A predominant vocal style is *legato*, all slurred notes are vocal bends and to should be barely heard.

The aesthetic value of a melodic line is achieved through the use of well-proportioned and balanced skips and steps. Steps make it nice and predictable and leaps prevent the song from being too boring.

The last bar with the tonic chord is added by me. Modern commercial music doesn't resolve on tonic to push a listener to repeat the track on a streaming service.
