You can omit playing green notes (the second voice).
"Safe & Sound (Taylor's Version)" is transcribed in the original key, E Minor. The progression is built from a handful of extended chords and a non-harmonic A Major.
Extended chords help create richer sounds than those available from basic major and minor chords. A chord change marks time and musical structure and creates a meaningful harmonic pull.
Notice the ellipsis (silenced, omitted chords) in bars 26, 66-68, 100, 104, 108.
The aesthetic value of a melodic line is achieved through the use of
stepwise motion and dissonant notes. Steps make the melody accessible (nice and predictable) for young unexperienced listeners and dissonant notes prevent the song from being too boring.
I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners. The track isn't recorded in the 2/2 time. "Safe & Sound (Taylor's Version)" is played with a straight rhythm in 4/4 time. It is easy to count for beginners. But be sure not to play in a mechanical way. Strive for a loose and bouncing feel accenting strong beats. Take care to maintain a steady pulse and play along with the recording if you find that the memory eludes you. Practice "Safe & Sound (Taylor's Version)" slowly.
Vocal in the original track is sinuous and complex, marked by subtle bends and slides, with intense ornamentation. It is impossible to convey on piano with a fixed pitch of the keys. A predominant vocal style is legato, all slurred notes are vocal bends and to should be barely heard.
The last bar with the tonic chord is added by me. Modern commercial music doesn't resolve on tonic to push a listener to repeat the track on a streaming service.
