“Opalite” Sheet Music
There are two versions attached. Print them both on the printing page.
⚡A twelve-note scale and a metered sheet music isn't capable to express the sound of “Opalite” with its layered vocal and digitally generated inflections.
🗝️ The track is transcribed in the original key G Major but the track seems atonal: it has no apparent harmonic relationships.
Friction between melody and harmony leads to blurring of the harmonic center.
🎤 The vocals are typed using the 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Play the right hand at written pitch but sing one octave lower than written.
🔢 “Opalite” is composed with a straight rhythm in the common time. Accent strong beats.
🙅🏼 Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.
⏳Focus on precise rhythm.
🌉 The false ending of the bridge releases tension so the repeated chorus doesn't sound dull after an intense bridge.
🏷️ Much of the song’s aesthetic value is generated through the use of a one-note melody.
