Please, notice that the upper stave is written using a treble clef with the numeral 8 below it (a so-called suboctave clef). This indicates that the pitches sound an octave lower. Play the right hand one octave lower than written. I do it to avoid using ledger lines that slower sightreading.
I also doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners. The track isn't recorded in the 2/2 time.
The Ed Sheeran's track "Spring" is a song with a heterophonic arrengement: the instrumental part provides a harmony to support the vocal but also its own melody. I would not dare to call it counterpoint though. Practice "Spring" slowly. First, separately memorize the left hand part, and only then start practicing the right hand. When you memorized both, conjoin hands, practicing even slower.
The vocal part is built around three notes without with pitch inflections. The aesthetic value of the composition is placed on its rhythm thus its artistic meaning and expression suffer. A predominant vocal style is staccato.
"Spring" is transcribed in the original key, F Major, and uses a progression of basic/extended major and minor chords F C Am Bb Dm and F Bm G Em. The chord change marks time and musical structure rather than creates a meaningful harmonic pull.
