“Lonely is the Muse Sheet Music”

The track is transcribed in the original key, C Sharp Minor, and uses three major and minor chords A C♯m F♯m with alterations. Alterations create harmonic ambiguity and secondary colors. This frictions lead to a blurring of the harmonic center (C♯).

Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development.

The vocals are typed using the optional 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Sing one octave lower than written but play at written pitch because there would be no place for the left hand to play if you play the right hand one octave lower.

I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.

“Lonely is the Muse” is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.

The left-hand maintains movement with ostinato.

The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Halsey: a predominant articulation is staccato. Staccato saves breath.

The melody have a lot of expressive pauses, its recitative style was built on one-note melody.

The aesthetic value of the track suffers due to lack of melodic ideas from an experienced co-composer as Greg Kurstin. Artistic expressivity is not enough for platinum records.
