Hi, I am Rita. I transcribe sheet music since 2007. All my sheet music are accurate but simple, beginner-level transcriptions with lyrics (singing is good for mental health). Request any popular song in any genre and language.
More Sabrina Carpenter
"What a Girl Wants"
The track is transcribed in the original key, C Major, and uses extended major and minor chords in the harmony.
For this remake Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera imposed alternate harmony over the pre-existing harmony to create tension by deliberately using notes thar are foreign to the implied harmony. In the ad lib part (outro) every instrument and singer were using their own key and tones so I didn't transcribe it The file has two verses and ends with the second chorus.
The vocals are typed using a 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Play the right hand one octave lower than written.
"What a Girl Wants" is composed with a straight rhythm in common time.
Accent strong beats but do it softly.
The left-hand texture fulfills an accompanying role.
The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera: a predominant vocal style is staccato.
Pitch inflections (slurred notes) should be played quietly.
