"These Walls" is transcribed in the original *key,* A Flat Major, and uses extended at least to the seventh degree major and minor chords *A♭ B♭ D♭ D♭m Fm Cm E♭.* The D♭m chord is nonharmonic. Extended chords help create richer sounds. A chord change creates a meaningful harmonic progression.

Notice the ellipsis (omitted chord) highlighting the beginning of every chorus. It was made to push the voice (the right hand part) forward.
