A twelve-note scale and a metered sheet music isn't capable to express the sound of "Sympathy is a Knife" with its layered vocal and inflections of electronic instruments.

The right hand imitates the vocal delivery by Charli xcx: a predominant vocal style is *staccato*. The chanting is built on repetition of one note so focus on precise rhythm. It might be tiring to play with forte touch; accentuate sparingly.

"Sympathy is a Knife" is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. It is easy to count for beginners; accent strong beats. Play every repetition differently.

The left hand provides with musical texture. "Sympathy is a Knife" is heterophonic: the bass line supports the vocal line with an intricate riff.
