I have arranged Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 into a solo piano version encompassing all movements.
Following my solo piano arrangement of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 two years ago, this time, I present Chopin's No. 1 as a solo piano piece.
This masterpiece was first performed by Chopin in Paris in 1832, a work he unveiled with great anticipation. It serves as a culmination of all his piano compositions up to that point.
The grand and narrative-rich first movement, the serene and tenderly romantic second movement, "Romanze", and the third movement, "Rondo", featuring a vibrant and dance-like rhythm—all these make this concerto exceptionally unique and captivating. Such a combination of individuality and charm across movements is a rarity among piano concertos.
For this arrangement, I paid meticulous attention to detail, carefully considering which part carries the main melody and which part is most crucial at each moment. My goal was to maintain the integrity of the original composition while adapting it for solo performance.
In the original score, there are many sections where the piano part and orchestra part are distinctly separated, which allowed me to craft an arrangement that fully captures the piece’s beauty as a solo performance.
While the difficulty level is quite high, as it requires proficiency in playing the original piano part, those confident in their skills are encouraged to take on the challenge!

ショパン作曲の《ピアノ協奏曲第1番 ホ短調 Op.11》を、全楽章にわたりピアノソロ用にアレンジしました。
一昨年のラフマニノフ《ピアノ協奏曲第2番》のソロアレンジに続き、今回はショパンの《第1番》をピアノソロでお届けします。
この曲は1832年、ショパンが満を持してパリでの演奏会で初披露した作品で、彼がそれまでに作曲したあらゆるピアノ作品の集大成ともいえる傑作です。
壮大で物語性に富んだ第1楽章、愛に満ちた穏やかで優美な旋律が印象的な第2楽章「ロマンス」、そして華やかで舞曲風のリズムが特徴的な第3楽章「ロンド」。
これほど各楽章が個性的で魅力的なピアノ協奏曲は、他にはなかなか見当たりません。
今回のアレンジでは、主旋律がどのパートで奏でられているのか、また、各瞬間においてどのパートが最も重要かを意識し、細部にまでこだわって仕上げました。
さらに、原曲ではピアノパートとオーケストラパートが明確に分かれている箇所が多く、ピアノソロでも曲の魅力を十分に引き出せるよう工夫を施しています。
原曲のピアノパートを弾きこなすことが前提となるため、難易度は非常に高いですが、自信のある方はぜひ挑戦してみてください！
