Description
F. Chopin - Etude Op. 10 No. 3 in E Major "Tristesse"
A deeply singing melody opens this etude, but its lyrical surface eventually gives way to a more agitated and demanding central passage. The return of the opening can feel especially intimate when the contrast has been shaped as one continuous emotional arc.
Practise sustaining an upper melody over quieter inner parts, connecting chords through thoughtful fingering and controlling changes of texture. The middle section adds focused work on simultaneous notes and efficient hand movement.
Includes PDF and MusicXML files for solo piano, presenting the individual piece.
Happy playing!
