Description
R. Schumann - Papillons Op. 2
Short dances change character as Schumann’s Papillons moves from one scene to the next, evoking the pleasure of turning through a masked ball. Wit, lyricism and dance motion invite an imaginative range of touch and colour.
An introduction and twelve numbers offer work on articulation, voicing and quick changes of character. Assess the demands of each section, then shape the connections and the quiet final resonance into a complete performance.
Happy playing!
